《现代建筑名作访评》(REVIEW OF MODERNARCHITECTURE FAMOUS WORKS)原拟出版8卷，作为献给清华大学建校100周年的礼物。出版5卷后，写到“解构主义建筑学”就写不下去了，主要是难下结论。再三思考，决定先奉献5本（现代建筑名作访评）。
然后，集中力量，先把《古代建筑名作解读》10卷先写出来。现在《古代建筑名作解读》我已写完6卷，其他4卷已请好友们协助，争取清华大学建校110周年完成。《现代建筑名作访评》余下的2卷由我继续完成。本书是《现代建筑名作访评》系列之一，余下的另外2卷是《后现代建筑思潮》与《现代建筑运动初期的流派)。
