Shanghai 200092 China) Abstract:This paper proposed a method for the treatment of the soft ground for oil tank foundation using a bination of high vacuum densification and bining dynamic replacement methods.Construction wastes were used as the replacement to form a replacement column which reached the hard soil below. High vacuum densification method was then employed to improve the soft soils between the columns.CPT and SPT tests were performed to the soil between columns during the treatment.Static loading tests were performed after the treatment.Trial tests were also performed with water fully charged in the oil tanks. The test results show that the bearing capacity of the posite foundation could satisfy the requirement of 230kPa.
