AnnouncementoftheMinistryofHousingand Urban-RuralDevelopment of thePeople'sRepublicofChina No.1157 Announcement on Publishing the National Standard "Code for Construction of Ventilation and Air Conditioning" "Code for Construction of Ventilation and Air Conditioning" hereby is approved as a national standard with a serial number of GB 50738-2011 and shall be implemented as from May 1 2012. Thereinto 3.1.5 11.1.2 and 16.1.1 are pulsory and must be enforced strictly. Authorized by the Research Institute of Standards and Norms (RISN) of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China this code is published by China Architecture and Building Press. Foreword This code is formulated by China Academy of Building Research and Beijing Uni-Construction Group Co. Ltd. jointly with organizations concerned according to the requirements of *Notice on Printing and Publishing the Development and Revision Plan of National Engineering Construction Standards and Codes in 2008 (the First Batch) " (JIANBIAO [2008] No.102) issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. During the process of formulating this code the drafting group reviewed and finalized this code on the basis of extensive investigation and solicitation of opinions careful summarization of practical experience as well as reference to relevant international and advanced foreign standards. This code prises 16 Clauses covering the following main technical contents: general provisions terms basic requirements metallic duct and fittings making nonmetallic or posite duct and fittings making air valve and ponents making making and installation of trestle and hanger installation of air duct and ponents installation of air handling equipment installation of air conditioning cold/heat sources and auxiliary equipment installation of pipeline and accessory of air conditioning water system installation of refrigeration pipeline and accessory anticorrosion and thermal insulation installation of monitoring and control system inspection and test as well as trial operation and Provisions printed in bold type in this code are pulsory and must be enforced strictly. The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MOHURD) is in charge of the administration of this code and the explanation of the pulsory provisions while China Academy of Building Research is responsible for the explanation of specific technical contents. All relevant organizations are kindly requested to sum up and accumulate your experiences in actual practices during the process of implementing this code.
