In 2023 the Energy Foundation provided support to Beijng Urban Quadrant Techology Co. Ltd. to undertake a project entitled *The Impact of Shared Electric Bicycles nUrban Residents iestyles and the Roleof Green Transportation in Citie A Case Study of Kunming evaluate the mpact of shared electric bicycles on urban esidents lifestyles at the city level andinvestigate the public demand and its reasons represented by market growth. The findings of this project provide policy makers and the public with a more detailed and refined quantitative assessment of the demand for shared electric bicycles. The project also systematicallyexamined the management and operation experience o shared electric bicycles in Kunming and other typical cities conducted an in-depth analysis and summary of the experience and problems in the full chain of shared electric bicycle operation and management and proposed scenario restoration and scenario suggestions forthe fullife cycle of shared bicycles Through this analysis the projet aimed to provie guidance to poliy makers and urban manaers in adressing poliy cncems relate t the deployment of shared electric bicycles including issues related to traffic structure positioning public cognition positioning urban The research findings of the project coul contribute to the publics understanding o the impact of shared electric bicycles on urban lie and encourage more in-depth and prehensive public discussions on this topic. By detaching shared electric bicycles from a binary perspective of suport or opposition this project aimed to promote a more nuanced and balanoed discussion of shared eletric bicycles and their role in urban transportation.
