ExecutiveSummary Along with the rapid development of textile & Garment (T&G) industry. the continuous expansion of industrialscale and theincreasingdegree of modernization the demand for energy in T&G industry has also increased. Problems such as the increase of total energy consumption high energy consumption per unit output value of main products and imperfect energy utilization also appears. There is huge potential for energy efficiency improvement of which energy saving potential in the industrial sector is more than 50%. Energy consumed in T&G industry is mainly fossil energy (such as coal gas oil) and electricity. In 2015 the total fossil fuel consumption of the world is 11.306 billion tons of oil equivalent (toe). Among them the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) countries/district consumed 5.93 billion toe accounting for 52.45% of the world's well as textile industry’s share of GDP in these countries. It is of great significance to work to increase energy efficiency of T&G sector in BRI countries and will have a profound impact on global textile industry. In recent years the trade between China and the whole region has increased significantly. with the rising cost of manufacturing in China the ASEAN (the Association of Southeast Asian Nations)region has gradually bee the representative BRI countries such as Vietnam Indonesia and Cambodia in the ASEAN region and Bangladesh in South Asia whose T&G industry is growing rapidly to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of investment in this sector in BRI countries.
